Bugs in Battle

This workshop investigates the ways in which insects protect themselves from their enemies.  Students will learn to understand the daily dangers that face insects, such as hungry birds, armies of ants that will eat anything in their path and the giant world of humans who will spray, squash and swat.

Through play-based activities, we explore tactics such as camouflage and warning colours. We then learn about the insects that fight back against their enemies using sharp jaws, painful stings, itchy hairs and even stink bombs!  Students will be shown live insects & static displays to see these defence tactics in action.
